Everything you need to get playing, from your first visit in the browser to the LattePlayer desktop app.

Getting started

What is Latteland?

Latteland is a free, fan-run revival of the classic Goodgame browser games. We are bringing back the Cafe game and working to restore Disco and Fashion. Latteland is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Goodgame Studios. It is made by fans, for fans.

How do I start playing?

Latteland is home to three games: Cafe, Disco, and Fashion. The Cafe is the one you can play today. To play it, open it and your browser runs it automatically using Ruffle, a Flash emulator. If your browser still has native Flash, that works too. If you want to save your progress, create an account first.

Playing in your browser

Latteland runs right in your browser, with nothing to download. The site detects whether your browser can run Flash natively or needs Ruffle, then plays either way. Browser games normally pause when you switch tabs, so if you want full-screen play without pausing, try the LattePlayer desktop app instead.

Do I need Flash installed?

No. Latteland uses Ruffle, a modern Flash emulator that runs in any current browser. If your browser is up to date, whether Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge, you are ready to play.

Accounts and safety

Creating an account and saving progress

Sign up with a username, email, and password. Your account saves everything: your cafe, XP, cash, gold, inventory, friends, and co-ops. Passwords are stored as salted hashes, so use a unique password you do not use elsewhere. Without an account, your progress is lost when you close the game.

Is Latteland safe and official?

Latteland is safe, but it is not official: it is a fan-made project, not affiliated with Goodgame Studios. Your account data is stored securely over HTTPS. If you have concerns about privacy or security, email [email protected].

The LattePlayer app

What is LattePlayer, and why use it?

LattePlayer is a free desktop app for Windows and macOS that runs Latteland in its own window. Unlike the browser, it keeps your game running when you switch windows, and you can open more than one game window side by side. The app bundles Flash, so there is nothing extra to install, and it updates itself in the background.

Installing it

Go to the downloads page and get the LattePlayer ZIP. Extract the folder wherever you like. On Windows, run LattePlayer.exe. On macOS, open the LattePlayer app.

Seeing a security warning? The first time you run it, Windows SmartScreen may say "Windows protected your PC" (click More info, then Run anyway), or macOS may say the developer cannot be verified (right-click the app, choose Open). This happens because LattePlayer is a small fan project without paid code-signing. It is safe to run.

Which platforms does it support?

LattePlayer runs on Windows and macOS. If you are on something else, play the Cafe in your browser instead.

Play on a phone or tablet

LattePlayer is desktop only, but Latteland itself installs as an app on any modern phone. Once installed it opens fullscreen with no browser bar, and the pages you have already visited still open when you are offline.

  • Android (Chrome): open latteland.online, tap the menu, then Add to Home screen or Install app.
  • iPhone and iPad (Safari): open latteland.online, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. Safari does not offer this from other browsers.
  • Desktop (Chrome or Edge): look for the install icon at the right of the address bar.

The Cafe itself needs Flash or Ruffle, so gameplay on a phone depends on what your browser supports. News, help and downloads all work offline once installed.

Play without the launcher (advanced)

The easiest way to play is the LattePlayer, which sets all of this up for you. If you would rather not install it, you can build the same setup by hand: an older Chromium plus the clean Flash plugin. This is fiddly and meant for advanced users.

You will need two pieces: an older Chromium 85 and a clean Flash plugin. We recommend Clean Flash Player, an open-source installer that strips out Adobe's telemetry, auto-update, and 2021 kill switch, so Flash still runs.

  1. Get Chromium 85: download build 85.0.4177.4, or browse its download page. Extract the ZIP, then run chrome.exe from the folder.
  2. Install Clean Flash Player: download and run the Clean Flash installer from cleanflash.org (open source on GitLab). It sets up the Flash plugin for you.
  3. Open the Cafe in Chromium and allow Flash for the site when the browser asks.

Tip: If anything misbehaves, the LattePlayer is the supported path and does all of this for you automatically. Ask on Discord if you get stuck.

Troubleshooting and help

The game will not load or shows a black screen

Refresh the page and clear your browser cache. If you are using LattePlayer, restart the app. Make sure your browser or LattePlayer is up to date.

Lost progress or cannot sign in

Double-check your username and password. If you signed up with an email that was spelled wrong, that account may not be recoverable. For account help, ask on Discord.

The game feels slow or laggy

Close other browser tabs or apps to free up memory. If you are in the browser, try LattePlayer, which may perform better on your system.

Where do I get help?

Join the Discord for the fastest answers about the game, your account, and technical issues. For privacy, data rights, or serious security matters, email [email protected]. Emails about general gameplay may not get a reply, so Discord is your best bet.
